Piezoresistive Chemical Sensors Based on Functionalized Hydrogels
Thin films of analyte-specific hydrogels were combined with microfabricated piezoresistive pressure transducers to obtain chemomechanical sensors that can serve as selective biochemical sensors for a continuous monitoring of metabolites. The gel swelling pressure has been monitored in simulated physiological solutions by means of the output signal of piezoresistive sensors. The interference by ...
متن کاملPaper-based piezoresistive MEMS sensors.
This paper describes the development of MEMS force sensors constructed using paper as the structural material. The working principle on which these paper-based sensors are based is the piezoresistive effect generated by conductive materials patterned on a paper substrate. The device is inexpensive (∼$0.04 per device for materials), simple to fabricate, lightweight, and disposable. Paper can be ...
متن کاملOffset stable piezoresistive high-temperature pressure sensors based on silicon
The exploitation of new application fields and the drive to size reduction even in highly stable pressure sensing systems makes the extension of the operating temperature range of the microelectromechanical sensors (MEMS) essential. For this reason a silicon-based pressure sensor with an application temperature ranging up to 300 C and the associated manufacturing technology was developed. With ...
متن کاملFlexible Graphite-on-Paper Piezoresistive Sensors
We demonstrate novel graphite-on-paper piezoresistive devices. The graphite was used as sensing component. The fabrication process can be finished in a short time with simple tools (e.g., a scissor and a pencil). A small array of six paper-based piezoresistive devices is made. The whole device is flexible. The test results showed that the change of resistance was proportional to the applied for...
متن کاملColorimetric logic response based on aptamer functionalized colloidal crystal hydrogels.
A novel colorimetric logic system based on the aptamer-cross-linked colloidal crystal hydrogel (CCH) was developed. With the input stimuli of Hg(2+) and Ag(+), the CCH displayed shrinking response and colour change corresponding to the logical "OR" and "AND" gate. The visualization of the logic output signals is realized.
